New Syntagma Design is Live

If you hadn’t noticed, you must be blind. Sorry, visually impaired.

The new Syntagma Digital design is up. This is the neutral template for sites that don’t fit snugly into one of our three network magazines. You can see an Allusionz template here.

We’ll be unrolling the Phi and LifeTimes themes tomorrow on some of the sites, and all the others in time.

Thanks to Thord Hedengren for a fantastic job. He really is a pro, not only technically, but in terms of design too.

More later.

  1. Or maybe they need to clear their cache? Ctrl+F5 usually does that, folks. :)

Thanks for the kind words John. Can’t wait to hear what people think, and to see the various iterations for the three network magazine sites roll out.

  2. Absolutely, Thord. I can’t wait either. :-)

  3. Neato! I haven’t even gotten to my Bloglines yet .. just following a link to the subscriber comment of an earlier post.

Looks good! Although, this comment box grey is hiding my mouse pointer. Also, really like the punchy navy blue for Syntagma colors .. if you used it more, I certainly wouldn’t mind!

  4. Thanks, HART, much appreciated.

Yes, we’ll fix the dark comment box. I’ve mentioned it to Thord.

    Glad you like it.

  5. Wow! Looks really nice :-)

  6. Looking good John and Thord,

Hey John – it has a magazine layout feel … ;-)

Same as Hart – the comment box grey is doing havoc to my mouse and my eyes. :-)

  7. Lovely!

  8. Thanks, Cyndi. I’m glad at least one of you b5ers like it. :-)

  9. Martin: We’re still tweaking it a bit and we’ll deal with some of the gripes — which are very few indeed. The main thing is we get it right before unrolling the templates over our 50 sites.

  10. Thanks, Steve.

  11. Another b5er gives the new design a thumbs up! :)

  12. You can never have too many thumbs pointing skyward, Hsien. :-)

  13. The only thing that disappoints me about the design is that you’d think b5 wouldn’t congratulate you John. When has b5 ever held back praise of competitors?

Either way, the new design’s very, very good. Can’t wait to see the network done :)

  14. Thanks, Jeremy. I was only teasing about b5. You know me. ;-)

And thanks for the good wishes. I’m sure Thord will be delighted as well.

We still have a few changes to make : centering the design on the screen, reducing the dark shade of the comment box, and fixing a couple of links in the footer. We’ll have all four of the templates ready today, but won’t seriously start rolling them out until Monday.

Then the Syntagma concept will be visible to all and not just a twinkle in my eye.

After that, the real hard work begins. :-)

  15. “After that, the real hard work begins. ”

I know what that’s like. Good luck, and enjoy :)

  16. Not to worry Jeremy! I knew John was just yanking my chain :-D
