SkillShare at WBA
I’ve been thinking about this for a while as part of the feature set of the Writers’ Blog Alliance (WBA): a SkillShare system, using barter, for writers and bloggers.
It’s a truism that many writers are as poor as church mice, especially early on in their careers. They may also lack certain crucial Internet skills, particularly on the technical side.
The idea, then, is for writers/bloggers to put up a list of their offered skills, so that in the event they lack something specific, they can trade skills with another blogger to the mutual advantage of both. I hope it will thrive through the WBA site, but if it needs expansion, I may set up a separate blog within Syntagma Media.
Darren has been posting on something similar over at Problogger, though it seems to be a less structured approach; more a discussion of needs.
Can anyone add to this idea?
